Early this month my hubby and I got to go on a little vacation without the kids. We stayed in a hotel on the beach in Lincoln City. One of the highlights of the trip for me was a hike on Cascade Head. The hike starts in the forest which was gorgeous, but this spot was just ethereal.
These trees are growing on top of a log.
The forest ends in this abrupt tree line at the meadows which unfortunately was no longer in bloom.
There were a few cautionary signs in the meadow.
The real hike comes at the end where you can follow the trail down the bluff a ways before it turns inland. Altogether we went down about 700 feet. I think going down first and then having to hike back up definitely makes this hike a bit more intense.
